On Monday, Brandon and his class celebrated Dr. Suess's 104th birthday. Angie brought Cat in the Hat cookies for his class to have at snacktime. They seemed to be a pretty big hit. Jennifer Kirts did a wonderful job on the cookies! The theme last week in his class was Dr. Suess, so we've read lots of Dr. Suess books this past week at home and at school. Their upcoming theme is chicks/eggs. They currently have an incubator full of 12 eggs that will hatch around St. Patrick's Day.

Flu Bug Hits the Turners!
As for the rest of us, I started with a runny nose on Monday night. I had the chills throughout the night and all my joints were achy in the morning (my temp was 102 when I woke up). I thought I was feeling a little better, but started feeling worse by noon. I starting getting "sick to my stomach" 5-6 times the rest of the day/evening and felt like the guy in the cartoon above. I was quarantined to the bedroom for two days only occasionally getting a welfare check. As I was coming out of it on Thursday, Angie came down with a fever that evening and was feeling bad. That continued until Friday and she started coming out of it. (Brandon and I are requesting an investigation to see if she was just looking for sympathy and/or wanting to sleep in.) We are keeping our fingers crossed for Brittany because she is the only one not impacted by it so far. Angie and Brittany were put on Tamiflu as a preventative against the flu Wednesday. Our prescription bill was $140 this week (would have been over $460 without insurance; each Tamiflu prescription would have been $120 for 10 pills) and unknown quantities of tissues have been used.

Brittany's Artwork
Brittany drew a family portrait today, including Kirby. I labeled them in case you didn't notice the resemblance. She likes drawing pictures just like her big brother!

Elusive Crown of Wonder
Official Turner Totals
The snow finally stopped and the official "Turner Total" was 11.25 inches. I was a little worried if I would have trouble getting to work but the snow was pretty easy to get through. I was able to easily get out the driveway and the street that hadn't been plowed. I'm glad I have a 4 wheel drive though. The kids didn't have school today but Brittany was still able to go over to one of her classmate's house in the subdivision for a birthday party/play date. Brandon got to tag along too! I'm guessing we will be out in the snow tomorrow! Brandon didn't get the drive shoveled so I will get him up extra early tomorrow so he can get started on it.
