I'm Dreaming of a White Easter

Not exactly, but Mother Nature tried for most of the day. The kids had a great Easter. Grandma Abbie was up for the weekend and "Aunt" Marilyn stopped by in the afternoon to drop off a couple of chocolate bunnies. Luckily none of the snow lasted once it reached the ground. Hopefully I will be able to get some other Easter pictures up soon.

UPDATE: Here's some of the photos from Easter that I promised. Better late than never!

The Next Tiger Woods?

Brandon set a new personal best for Wii Golf today. Brittany was there to congratulate him after he set his new record and he won a medal. Unfortunately with the Illini loss, this was the most we had to celebrate today.

Hope Everyone Is Warm In Their Nest!

We got another 4.5 inches of snow today. It is cold this week after we experienced temperatures in the upper 60s over the weekend. I guess Old Man Winter is trying to hang around. Hopefully Spring will be here soon!

Butterflies, Bison, Blues, and Best Friends

This past weekend we went to St. Louis to visit our friends, the Kreidlers. We met up for lunch on Saturday and went to the Butterfly House and the St. Louis Carousel. The kids had a blast playing on the playground enjoying the beautiful day.

From there we went to the Lone Elk Park and saw several elk and bison. After that we headed to the Kreidler's house and Paul cooked out while I got to watch the first half of the Illinois - Iowa basketball game (still surprised we won!).

After we ate, Paul and I rode the Metro down to watch the Blues play San Jose. We had great seats, just too bad the Blues couldn't score a goal. We headed back to Springfield on Sunday for Brittany to attend one of her classmate's birthday parties and for Brandon to have his first basketball practice of the year. We had a great time visiting our friends! Click to see more pictures of the St. Louis Weekend trip.

Happy Birthday Dr. Suess!

On Monday, Brandon and his class celebrated Dr. Suess's 104th birthday. Angie brought Cat in the Hat cookies for his class to have at snacktime. They seemed to be a pretty big hit. Jennifer Kirts did a wonderful job on the cookies! The theme last week in his class was Dr. Suess, so we've read lots of Dr. Suess books this past week at home and at school. Their upcoming theme is chicks/eggs. They currently have an incubator full of 12 eggs that will hatch around St. Patrick's Day.
